For the earliest possible start date we are searching for a highly qualified

Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f) 

to join our expanding Software Operations (SW_Ops) team in our Munich (MUC), Germany (DE) office.

 

The position will be the key link between Product Development, QA and Platform Operations teams. You will help in transforming our leading cancer research portal from a sophisticated on-premise installation that uses modern CI/CD technologies into a fully cloud based environment. You’ll be the key contributor to and influencer of the design of our cloud and internal software infrastructure and deployments.

 

Key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Contributing in definition and implementation of IT infrastructure deployment automation in the cloud and on premise
  • Close collaboration with product development team in addressing identified issues in software design, bottlenecks or/and manual configuration steps
  • Contributing in definition and implementation of company-wide Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools
  • Contributing in defining future system architectures which will improve stability and operational efficiency of the systems
  • Manage IT tools used for automation activities (CI/CD, configuration management, automation toolset, etc.)
  • Manage orchestration infrastructure (Kubernetes)
  • Educate and promote infrastructure automation practices within IT department

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communicator: can communicate effectively in English and adapt communication style to various stakeholder types (e.g. tech savvy, business savvy)
  • Collaborator: able to bring various teams closer together (e.g. developers and IT)
  • Experience in IT Operations of large-scale web based and micro services based applications
  • Linux administration
  • Experience with utilizing cloud infrastructure and platform services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Experience in version control systems, preferably Git
  • Experience in configuration management and infrastructure automation systems, preferably Ansible
  • Experience in CI/CD platforms, preferably GitLab
  • Experience with Kubernetes/Docker orchestration environment
  • Self-learner who’ll seek and find knowledge needed for new concepts/solutions/technologies
  • Ability to organize self and others including effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines.
